No Turning Back

Well here I am in Manchester, all systems go! This time tomorrow I will be in the air and over half way to Dubai International Airport. I did say that next time you would hear from me I would be in Japan…but I had to make an entry given the opportunity!

Before I left the house I must have checked and re-checked that I had everything at least 100 times. But this is to be expected given the distance that I am going. From there it was off to Newcastle Central Station, for my 3 and-a-bit hour train Journey to Manchester Airport. I opted to head to Manchester the day before, to save rushing and avoid unnecessary worry.

Still have the pre-trip jitters, although it’s not so bad. A few reassuring phone calls from well-travelled friends has certainly helped. I may still be in England but that doesn’t mean my trip can’t start here! I’ve never been to Manchester before, so have had a really enjoyable afternoon! My hotel isn’t so great mind; it reminds me of Only Fools and Horses….notably Del Boy’s flat in Nelson Mandela house in Peckham. But never mind….nothing can get me down now….I am going to Japan tomorrow after all!

So, i’m certain I have everything so I am starting to wind down a bit at least. My flight takes off at 2pm tomorrow, so there is plenty of time in the morning to go about my business without rushing too much, but leaving plenty of time in the airport to sink a few pints!

Until Japan!
